The IPL 2025 auction saw uncapped players shine as Rasikh Salam Dar became the highest-paid uncapped player on Day 1. RCB signed the pacer for ₹6 crore, starting from a base price of ₹30 lakh. Nehal Wadhera was picked by Punjab Kings for ₹4.20 crore, while Abdul Samad went to LSG for the same amount.

Mumbai Indians joined the auction late but made a splash by signing New Zealand’s Trent Boult for ₹12.50 crore. Jofra Archer and Josh Hazlewood also fetched ₹12.50 crore each.

Kolkata Knight Riders made a record-breaking move by spending ₹23.75 crore to bring back Venkatesh Iyer, making him the biggest buy outside the marquee set. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan found a new team in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for ₹11.25 crore.

Lucknow Super Giants set a new IPL record, spending a whopping ₹27 crore on Rishabh Pant, making him the league’s costliest buy ever. Moments earlier, Punjab Kings secured Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore, breaking the previous record held by Mitchell Starc, who was signed for ₹24.75 crore last year. Notably, David Warner went unsold this year.

Arshdeep Singh became the first player sold in the auction, earning ₹18 crore after Punjab Kings used their Right to Match (RTM) card to outbid SRH. Gujarat Titans added Kagiso Rabada for ₹10.75 crore and Jos Buttler for ₹15.75 crore.

Indian bowlers dominated the marquee set. Yuzvendra Chahal was signed by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore, Mohammed Shami went to SRH for ₹10 crore, and Mohammed Siraj joined Gujarat Titans for ₹12.25 crore.

Among batters, KL Rahul stood out, earning ₹14 crore from Delhi Capitals. Mitchell Starc, the record-setter from last year, moved to DC this time for ₹11.75 crore.

In the all-rounder category, Ravichandran Ashwin returned to CSK for ₹9.75 crore, while Punjab Kings spent ₹11 crore on Marcus Stoinis.
