DOWN TO THE WIRE. 50 SECONDS LEFT IN THIS GAME. Pankaj Mohite pressures the covers. But no point here. 30 seconds to go. Can Abhijeet seal it for Jaipur? Pune is high up and Abhijeet has legitimised the raid. Akash Shinde goes in for the last raid of the game and is brought down. JAIPUR HOLDS ITS NERVES AND DENIES PUNE A CHANCE TO TIE THIS GAME. WHAT A GAME.

RB Ramesh says no giving bonus, no giving anything. Attack the raider no matter what. It’s their DOD raid. 

Neeraj Narwal comes in and the defence is high. No bonus being allowed. And Pune has brought him down. BC Ramesh immediately gets up and says that was not a bonus. Nicely done this by Pune. 

Ajith Kumar doesn’t manage a touch. Two minutes left in the game. Neeraj Narwal is also playing slow. They want Pune to make errors and play on the DOD raid. 

DOD raid now for Pune and it’s Ajith sent in. Reza has dashed him out and doesn’t allow him to come back. Arjun rises and calls for a timeout. 

They don’t have a raider. There’s only 1 point lead. Two minutes to go. Arjun will be revived second. Be careful and raid. 

Under 3.5 minutes to go in this game. Pune needs to ensure Arjun stays out on the bench. Empty raid for Akash Shinde as the three-minute bell goes off. 

Neeraj Narwal paces about and runs the lock down . PUNERI PALTAN CALLS FOR A TIMEOUT.

DOD raid now. Arjun Deshwal comes in. Arjun manages the bonus and still goes back. Gaurav Khatri sees his chance and dashes Arjun out. Incredible this. 

Ajith manages yet another point as Lucky Sharma’s backhold cannot hold the former Panthers player back. 

Ajith is attacking the advancing chains. But he can’t get a point here. Under six minutes in the game now. Officials are looking at whether Lucky Sharma stepped out. Ajith is given the bonus.

Akash Shinde keeps venturing near that right corner. He is brought down. He’s given the bonus though. 

Arjun Deshwal draws out an error from Aman who offers a touch. The gap, three points now. 7.5 minutes to go in this game. 

Akash Shinde claims a touch on Ankush Rathee. Now no escape. It was a big kick to the face as he runs to safety. 

Under 10 minutes to go. Pankaj Mohite claims a touch on Ankush Rathee and Ankush is beating the mat in denial. Referees say nothing. Replays show there was no touch on Ankush’s toes. 

Arjun Deshwal gets the bonus

Bonus to Jaipur’s K Dharanidharan but Sanket Sawant brings him down. ALL OUT INFLICTED. From a nine point deficit, to a two-point deficit with 10 minutes left in the game, THIS is the quality of this Puneri Paltan side. 

Akash Shinde has done something INCREDIBLE. He went into the defensive huddle but he’s escaped carrying all those touches to the midline. The quality of Puneri Paltan. He is pumped up. Ankush Rathee, Neeraj Narwal, Surjeet Singh ALL TO THE BENCH. Jaipur down to their last man.

Empty raid for Abhijeet. Pune brings down Abhijeet on Jaipur’s DOD raid. Aman gets a hold on his legs. 

Ajith is in now, raiding against his former team. Begins with an empty raid. 

Empty raid for Abhijeet. Ajith tries to dubki his way out of the left chain but he is flattened.

V Ajith Kumar is warming up now. Akash Shinde meanwhile gets a point off Reza Mirbagheri who can’t stop his move to the midline. DOD raid for Jaipur. Arjun eyes the bonus. No need for any greed here. But the referees say RAIDER OUT. What’s happened here? Arjun is quite comfortable as he calls for the review. Ooops. That was a poor bonus attempt. REVIEW LOST. ARJUN TO THE BENCH.

Pankaj Mohite’s dubki fails. Lucky Sharma orchestrating that takedown. An off day for the Paltan indeed. 

Abhijeet goes in now. The next revival is Arjun Deshwal. But Abhijeet is happy with the bonus. 

DOD raid for Pune. Mohit Goyat, a specialist in these situations, comes in. But he will do nothing as Ankush Rathee brings him down in the left corner. 

Empty raid for Arjun. Empty raid for Mohit too. Neeraj Narwal is then dashed out of the mat by Abinesh Nadarajan. He’s finally perfected the move he’s put in all night. Deficit now six points.

Empty raids for Akash Shinde and Neeraj Narwal. Time runs out in this half. HALF TIME.

Under a minute and a half left in this game. 

Unity helps in this case. Aman and the left defence brings down Arjun. Everyone piles on for support.

DOD raid for Puneri Paltan now. Pankaj Mohite comes in. He tries to jump over the right defence but Lucky Sharma plucks him out of the air. 

Under five minutes in this game. Pankaj Mohite gets a bonus point. Empty raid for Abhijeet Malik. Arjun too comes back empty-handed. ,

Pankaj Mohite seems to be running the clock down a bit to slow the game down. Abhijeet then comes for a DOD raid. He gets his hand to the line, but it looks like no part of the body was in the playing area. Good dash by the Pune defence. 

Empty raid for Arjun. Six minutes to go in this half. Mohit Goyat drowns in the left cover region. Surjeet blocks him and then the rest circle their prey. 

DOD raid for Jaipur. Neeraj Narwal comes in to raid. Four men on the mat for Pune. Neeraj takes too long and is stranded in the right corner. He lost steam a bit there and Gaurav Khatri and Sanket Sawant finished the job. 

Empty raid for Mohit Goyat. 

Empty raid for Arjun Deshwal. A little rivalry here with Abinesh who has been trying to dash him all evening. 

DOD raid for Pune. Akash Shinde is brought down by Neeraj Narwal with help from the left chain. 

Aman finally puts in a tight anklehold to bring down Abhijeet.

In the last five minutes, Jaipur has 11 points to Pune’s 5. There’s the story of this game so far.

It’s not everyday that a team can come in and manage a nine-point lead against Pune in the first 10 minutes of a game. Pune is missing Aslam Inamdar’s presence today as they look hapless in both departments. It looks like they’re allowing Jaipur to dictate the pace and that’s not good news. 

Empty raid for Mohit Goyat. Abinesh dashes out Abhijeet, but the Jaipur raider has made it past the midline. 

DOD raid now for Pune. Time is running out, Pankaj Mohite takes too much time and Ankush Rathee gobbles him up for dinner. Ankush has taken a knock to the head it seems. He takes a few seconds to rise.

Puneri Paltan then gets its first tackle point, eight minutes into the game. Abinesh times his block well to send out Arjun Deshwal.

Akash Shinde is so quick and quickly picks up a point off Reza Mirbagheri courtesy a toe touch on the Iranian. 

Arjun Deshwal gets a bonus plus a touch on Abinesh. Everything is pink in Noida right now. 

Reza Mirbagheri dashes Mohit Goyat out.But he’s also out of bounds. Bonus plus the point given to Pune, one to Jaipur. Arjun Deshwal then gets a touch on Aman. ALL OUT INFLICTED. Pune getting swept away by Jaipur dictating the pace of the game.

Mohit Goyat threatens the Jaipur covers but comes back without a point. Arjun Deshwal comes in with three men left on the mat for Pune. Arjun seems to have picked a point of Abinesh Nadarajan. 

Pune is given the bonus. Arjun comes in and gets a kick on Sanket Sawant. Very tame from the man in the left corner. Pune down to one man. 

This was hilarious to watch. Neeraj Narwal goes in to raid. Gaurav Khatri gets the ankle hold in and drags him back. Referees first give Gaurav the point but a few seconds more are taken to think and the point is given to Neeraj. 

Pankaj Mohite is then brought down by Lucky Sharma in the right defence region. Early momentum to Jaipur. 

We expected this to be a close game and it begins on just that note. Mohit Goyat’s pace sends Lucky Sharma by surprise as he steps out of bounds. He then gets a kick on Ankush, but Surjeet comes in at the right time with the dash. A point each. 

Arjun Deshwal, in trying to go for the left corner, twists on his own foot and comes down. Thankfully no injuries. There’s a smile on his face. Again, a point each. 

Akash Shinde is then brought down by Ankush Rathee who comes in with Neeraj in the chain to block the Pune raider.

The previous contest between Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Puneri Paltan ended in the favour of the former. They won 36-34.

Shadloui comes in to raid. He runs the clock down. He’s taking a nice stroll down the park. 45 seconds to go in this game. Masanamuthu tries to get a touch on Shadloui but the Iranian holds his legs and that’s the end. 

Vinay then draws the surrender from Anuj and the ALL OUT HAS BEEN INFLICTED. STEELERS HAVE SEALED THIS GAME. For 38 minutes, this was a close game. And then Shadloui decided to show Noida who’s the biggest ‘gunda’ around! HARYANA WINS!

Vinay rolls the clock down. DOD raid for Haryana. Vinay comes in. Four men on the mat for the Thalaivas. ERRORS UNDER PRESSURE. Vinay gets the kick on Nitesh and then gets a touch on Bastami who comes attempting to dash him out. Groans from the Thalaivas bench 

Under three minutes to go and just one point separates these two teams. Manpreet asks Shadloui to come into the cover position hoping to use him in the chain. He wants to draw the raiders into the chain to then drown out there. Jaideep vetos against it. 

Shafaghi comes into raid and the plan is followed. He draws his compatriot into the chain and then becomes STONE. BLOCKED.

Vinay gets a bonus. Vishal then comes in for the Thalaivas and Shadloui has lunged for his legs. Down and out. Tightest of ankleholds! Jaideep rises from the bench in applause. 

Vinay runs in goes into the right corner. Vinay claims a touch on Bastami. Bastami was pleading that there was no touch. Vinay is given the point. Both teams do not have a review. HOLD ON. 

DECISION HAS BEEN REVERSED. The touch isn’t counted. Bastami’s confidence paying off. 

Narender goes in and tries to jump over the left chain. Shadloui swats him down like a fly. The referee warns him for neckholding. High five for the Iranian

Vinay is brought down high up the mat with two lines of defence. Abhishek bringing him down. He has gotten hold of the jersey. Manpreet is livid. Abhishek is given a green card and Haryana gets a point. Thalaivas coach Dharmaraj Cheralathan is not happy at all. 

Under six minutes now. Both teams are happy to play to the third raid. Narender is given freebies. What a brainfade by the Steelers. Jaideep first makes the error as he gifts a touch, then Shivam Patare charges at him for absolutely no reason. Both these men have to go the bench. I would not want to look in Manpreet’s direction. 

Last 10 minutes. Narender comes in and there’s a high line of defence for the man. Shivam Patare goes too deep into the left corner and Nitesh Kumar has rammed into him. 

DOD raid for the Thalaivas. In comes Vishal Chahal who thankfully looks okay after taking that knock to that head. He keeps going every where looking for a touch but is brought down by Rahul Sethpal. Vishal Tate has been given a green card for jersey pulling. He looked like he had his arm around Vishal’s neck. That can be dangerous hence the warning. 

Empty raid for Narender. 

Shivam Patare looks like he’s picked uip two players. Kick on Bastami and Anuj Gawade who can’t stop him as he retreats. 

NOTHING SEPARATES THESE TEAMS WITH 10 MINUTES TO GO IN THIS GAME. TIMEOUT TAKEN.

Vishal Tate is brought down in the right corner, Vishal drags himself to the midline and nearly makes it before he is dragged back. 

Thalaivas add insult to injury as Narender slips out of Shadloui’s hold. He is livid is the Iranian. The Thalaivas, courtesy Shafaghi who is now on the left, get another point as he brings down Vinay. 

Empty raid for Narender Kandola. But Narender believes he has a bonus point. He reviews. Was this necessary? The review doesn’t look promising. UNSUCCESSFUL AND IT’S WASTED. NO MORE REVIEWS FOR THE THALAIVAS. Both teams do not have a review now. 

Vishal Tate has a touch on Nitesh Kumar in the left corner. This game is as tight as it gets. 

Moein Shafaghi tempts the right corner but Shadloui comes in from behind him and blocks him and turns him around. Iranian vs Iranian. Pure box office. Bent out of shape. 

And we resume after a fairly long break in kabaddi terms. Shivam Patare goes into raid and targets Bastami in the right corner. No touch, he goes to the left and is brought down by Nitesh Kumar. Teamwork to turn him the other way. 

DOD raid for Thalaivas now and Vishal targets Shadloui. Rahul Sethpal gets the job done as he gets a hold of his ankle. During the tackle, Vinay;s knee knocks Vishal Chahal in the ear on the left side of his face. Hope it’s not too serious. He looks like he’s in a lot of pain. Vinay is granted a bonus point right after. 

Empty raid for Vishal Chahal. 

An official timeout has been taken. We do not know why just yet.

Vishal Tate gets a touch on Narender. 

Shafaghi is putting in an unreal shift in raid. He goes corner to corner. Prefers the right corner. 

Vishal Tate follows. His speed carries him into the lobby and he is gutted. Walks back with his face in his hands. 

Empty raids for Vishal Chahal and Shadloui. DOD raid for Thalaivas and Vishal comes in. Shadloui gets one hold on his leg and doesn’t let go. Big fist pump from the Iranian. 

Thalaivas continue to have their noses ahead and the righ defence, Anuj Gawade collides into Vinay’s legs. Brought down. After that, Shafaghi gets a touch on Jaideep. Low running hand touch this on his thigh. 

Shafaghi kicks off the second half. He goes straight for Shadloui who is happy to go high to scare his compatriot. Empty raid though. 

Shivam Patare goes in and cleans up the right defence chain. Bastami and Shafaghi gone. 

Last raid of the half and Vishal runs the clock down. HALF TIME.

Empty raid for Vishal Chahal. Under three minutes in this half. Vinay heads in for the Steelers, but comes back empty handed. Narender Kandola jumps here and there targetting the corners but empty raid again. 

Shivam Patare goes in for the Steelers with 1 minute and about 40 seconds to go. Busy raid but no value. DOD raid now again. Vishal Chahal comes for the Thalaivas. Jaideep goes for his ankles but Vishal is safe as he reaches past the midline. Hasty from Jaideep.

DOD raid for Haryana. Vishal Tate doesn’t get time to blink even as he’s brought down by Nitesh Kumar. 

Four minutes to go in this half now. Narender gets his point finally, Rahul Sethpal putting in a very advanced tackle. He almost pushes Narender past the line. Vishal Tate then runs in and while Bastami and Nitesh go for him and lift him up in the air, Vishal managed to get his hand past the midline. TWO players out. Nitesh Kumar, Amir Hossein Bastami sent to the bench.

Shivam Patare is brought down on the right flank but he may be in here. He has been dashed out, referees are looking at it again. Has his hand made it past the midline properly this time? Referees first say bonus but no point is awarded to Steelers. Point to the Thalaivas.

DOD raid for the Thalaivas and Shafaghi comes in. He will not succeed now. Jaideep runs in from the left as Shafaghi looks for a point down the right flank and brings him down. 

Two men on the mat for Haryana. Shafaghi picks up yet another point. He goes for Sanjay. Jumps over him and gets to safety. Thalaivas are sniffing the all out now. 

Shivam Patare comes in and runs across corners. But Amirhossein Bastami has dashed him out. There’s the ALL OUT. Haryana gets the bonus though. Hold on, Haryana has reviewed this call. They say Shivam has a bonus plus two points. Manpreet looking like he’s carrying the weight of the world. REVIEW UNSUCCESSFUL. Desperation in vain. 

Rahul Sethpal comes in and runs the clock down. It’s given the Thalaivas a lot of time to chat. Moein Shafaghi comes in to raid now, with three men left on the mat for the Steelers. Shafaghi breaks the left chain and gets a touch on the substitute Sahil who was stationed there. 

Do or die raid time. Vinay goes. Vinay perishes. Incredible defence, with the left and right working in tandem. 

Empty raid for Shafaghi. Shivam Patare ventures deep into the right corner but comes away without a point. Narender Kandola comes in now for the Thalaivas and he’s targetting Rahul Sethpal in the right. No point though. Vishal Chahal now comes in for the DOD raid. The right chain tempts Vishal who is going for Vinay, the raider, stationed in the left. Vishal is brought down. SUPER TACKLE!

Manpreet Singh, the Steelers coach, is warned twice for coaching during play. FIRST TIME OUT TAKEN. 10 MINUTES DONE IN THIS GAME.

Vinay again down to one man. He is brought down near the midline but he gets his hand past the midline. OH BIG RAID THIS. 2 or 3? We need to revisit this! Bonus plus two points. SUPER RAID! ALL OUT evaded yet again and in some style and just like that, parity in points. 

Chance to clean house. Vinay is the raider. Last man standing. Running hand touch on Abhishek helps him revive a teammate and delay that all out. Abhishek was caught napping. 

Vishal Chahal gets a touch on Vishal Tate. Big back kick this. 

Do or die raid now for Haryana. Shadloui goes in. He is trapped by Shafaghi, Bastami and the right chain. He gets the bonus but Thalaivas get the tackle. 

DOD raid for Vishal Chahal and Thalaivas and he has reduced the Steelers to one man, he gets a touch on skipper Jaideep. 

Vishal Chahal’s speed helps him gets a big running hand touch on Sanjay. 

Steelers are now down to three men. Vishal Chahal is targetting Shadloui who is game for the hunt. The Iranian now comes to raid. Plenty of chatter as the Thalaivas keep away from him. Bastami and Shafaghi have their mouths covered as they figure out what to do. 

The Thalaivas defence is roaring. Shivam Patare is brought down by an anklehold from Moein Shafaghi

Vishal Chahal, who stunned Warriorz, will start cautiously. Empty raid but Shadloui zooms in for a pursuit. Vishal had to scurry to safety and Shadloui himself had to pull the brakes to prevent himself from spilling into the lobby. 

Do-or-die raid for the Steelers. Vinay is brought down by the left corner Nitesh Kumar. Do or die raid for Thalaivas now and Moein Shafaghi is the man entrusted with the job. Rahul Sethpal goes for his legs, but Moein stretches to the midline. 

WHY ARE BOTH THESE TEAMS WEARING THEIR BLUE KITS? Looking at the Thalaivas here who had the yellow option. 

Narender Kandola then goes in for the Thalaivas and Shadloui goes straight for his legs. Trapped. Shadloui is switched on early today. Who rubbed him the wrong way before this game, we wonder!

Tamil Thalaivas also won their last match, beating Bengal Warriorz 46-31 on November 16.

Against Bengal Warriorz, Tamil Thalaivas were on fire. Sachin Tanwar and Sahil Gulia, senior members of the team, were benched. In their absence, Vishal Chahal and Moein Shafaghi have been absolutely brilliant. What can they do against a much stronger Haryana Steelers outfit tonight?
