Reddit is back online after a global outage that impacted users across countries. According to Downdetector, the online website tracking platform that relies on reports from users, the downtime started around 3pm (ET). Users were facing issues accessing the Reddit website via mobile and PC. At the peak, there were around 49,000 reports of problems with the platform.
Reddit resolves the issue
Taking note of the incident, Reddit shared a post on X saying “Investigating: We are currently investigating this issue”. In another post, the company responded to a user asking if Redidit is down. Reddit replied saying “Yes. We’re working on it.”
A post by official handle of Reddit Status now says that the bug has been fixed. It reads “Monitoring: A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results.”
In a statement, Reddit said “There was a bug in a recent update we made, but a fix is in place and we’re ramping back up”.
